On February 15, 2014, our lives were instantly changed when we delivered our beautiful daughter, Claire Marie. She was born still, at 39 weeks. I am often asked, "What gave you strength when you lost your daughter?" My answer is simple. It was the little things. Knowing there were other people out there experiencing loss inspired me. I searched and searched, coming across a non profit I will never forget. They had lost their son to cancer. I instantly wanted to know them, to be a part of their healing. That, combined with the loss of my daughter, was a turning point.
After this experience, I knew that I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to spread strength to other people facing any challenge. The hardest part of my day was always right when I opened my eyes in the morning, and laying in bed at night. My pillow caught all of my tears, it gave me comfort, and was the closest to all of my thoughts.
My pillow was mine. And nobody could take it.
That is how Pillow Story was born. My pillow was where I could rest my heart, and regain strength. Our pillows are the first thing we see when we open our eyes. They are the last thing we see before we fall asleep.
Let them be a reminder to someone, that they can get through anything!
